Police Committed To Weeding Out Unprofessional Officers- IGP

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun has indicated plans to weed out unprofessional officers from the force. This is as the nations number one police officer commits to strengthening the force intelligence and investigation departments.

The IGP gave the assurance at a workshop on enhancing professionalism and standardization in criminal Investigation with all heads of police investigation units held in Abuja.

He said the police will henceforth follow due process in assigning officers to its criminal investigation departments to maintain Professionalism.

The IGP also cleared the air on the recent case against some end bad governance protesters believed to be minors and disclosed plans by the force to implement child friendly policing practices.

The Police boss further used the opportunity to highlight some of the force major achievements in 2024 especially in the area of kidnapping and related crimes across the country.

The move by the police to establish new detective colleges across the 6 geo political zones to provide robust training programmes for investigators and private detectives was also disclosed at the meeting.
