As the Nigerian armed forces sustains fight to secure the country from both internal and external aggression, the Defence Headquarters says its combat operational procedures will from time to time be assessed and adjusted to minimise civilian casualties.
This decision was taken on the heels of successes recorded in diverse operations embarked upon by the military across Nigeria.
Addressing a news conference on stride recorded in the second quarter of 2024, the Director Defence Media Operations, Major General, Edward Buba, said over two thousand, two hundred and forty five terrorists were killed.
The Spokesperson, Defence Operations who noted that the operations were conducted inline with International laws governing armed conflict said arrested about three thousand six hundred and eighty two suspected terrorists and criminals were arrested. He said one thousand, nine hundred and ninety-three kidnapped hostages were freed from the terrorists.
General Buba also spoke on other achievements recorded by the troops of divers operation in the period under review.
He however, assured of military’s willingness to do everything within its mandate to keep the country safe.
