Police Rescues Abducted Daughters Of Zamfara Lawmaker

The Nigeria Police has rescued two daughters of a Zamfara State House of Assembly member, Aminu Ardo, after 17 months in captivity.

The two girls, twelve year old Maryam, and ten year old Nana Asma’u were kidnapped alongside their mother and two of their siblings in November 2022.

Addressing a news conference at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, said the Minors were kidnapped from Zamfara and taken to an unknown forest in Katsina State.

He said their mother escaped during the raining season of 2023 with two other children leaving behind the girls in the camp of their abductors.

The Police Chief further expressed the renewed vigour of officers and men of the Nigeria Police under the President Bola Tinubu’s administration, to enhance the country’s security architecture.

He however, assured of sustained collaboration with security and law enforcement agencies in order to provide a safe and secure environment for all.
