The Federation of Construction Industry (FOCI) has commenced the process to resolve the dispute between the Federal Ministry of Works and Contractors handling some federal government road projects across the country.
Recall that the new policy of the ministry requiring contractors to sign a reviewed contract document was not received in good faith by the contractors and is hindering progress on various sites.
Briefing newsmen on the outcome of the closed door meeting with the Minister of works, Dave Umahi that lasted over one hour, at the ministrys headquarters in Abuja, the Federation President, Vincent Barah said the delegation had a fruitful discussion.
The Minister of Works only recently directed contractors handling the Abuja-Lokoja-Benin highway rehabilitation project. to sign a new contract between April 25 and 26 or risk forfeiting the project.
