The Department of State Security (DSS) has released the former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa.
Bawa was suspended indefinitely as the chairman of the EFCC in June by President Bola Tinubu to allow for proper investigation into his conduct while in office following weighty allegation of abuse of office leveled against him.
The former EFCC boss was immediately taken into custody by the DSS on June 14.
Meanwhile, indications from Dr Peter Afunanya, Director Public Relations and Strategic Communications DSS confirmed the release of Abdulrasheed Bawa after four months in detention.
