The Nigeria Police Force has assured that the off-cycle gubernatorial elections in Bayelsa, Kogi and Imo States scheduled for November 2023 will be Peaceful.
The Inspector-General of Police IGP Kayode Egbetokun gave the assurance at a meeting with strategic Police Managers at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
He urged voters in the respected states to law abiding and exercise their franchise without fear as the Police will be on ground to guarantee their safety.
IGP Egbetokun also task all Commissioners of Police and other Tactical Commanders to ensure adequate security in the their formations as the Force will not tolerate attempt by unscrupulous persons to sabotage the economic revival in the Country.
The Police ended with a word of advise to it’s officers on the need to adhered to stipulated ethics as the Force will nolonger tolerate acts of indiscipline within it’s ranks.
