The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), has commenced the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) across the country, with the first batch of candidates sitting for the Computer Based Test (CBT) examination.
According to JAMB, over 1.7 million candidates successfully registered for the examination that is expected to run till May 16. At some of the centres visited by CNA News in the Abuja metropolis, candidates scheduled for the first day were seen with their parents and guardians waiting anxiously to be accredited in order to participate in the examination.
For some others that were done with the examination, they commended Jamb and the CBT centre for a hitch free process.
Abubakar Akande is the supervisor of the CBT centre located at the NAOWA facility, Mambilla barracks Abuja.
He said the centre as at the time of filing this report was yet to record any technical challenge except for a candidate with biometric issues.
Most of the centres visited complied with JAMB directive against the use of banned items including smart wristwatches, Calculators, recorders, mobile phones among others.
