Defence Ministry Debunks Minister’s Resignation Rumours
The Ministry of Defence has debunked reports circulating on social media claiming that the Honourable Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd), intends to step down from his position.
In a press statement released by the Ministry described the allegations as false, malicious, and a product of mischief aimed at misleading the public.
Speaking on behalf of the Ministry, Leah Katung-Babatunde, Special Assistant on Media to the Minister, clarified that Gen. Musa remains firmly in office and fully dedicated to his role overseeing the nation’s security architecture.
”General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd) remains fully focused on his national security mandate, deeply committed to his duties, and completely dedicated to piloting the nation’s defence strategy,” the statement read.
The Ministry urged members of the public to disregard the reports and cautioned media outlets and social media users against publishing or sharing unverified information without confirming directly with the Minister’s office.
