The Tinubu Media Support Group (TMSG) has praised President Bola Tinubu’s handling of the Oyo school abduction incident, saying the successful rescue of the victims and the swift prosecution of suspects reflect the administration’s renewed focus on intelligence driven security operations and stronger inter agency collaboration.

In a statement signed by its Chairman, Emeka Nwankpa, and Secretary, Dapo Okubanjo, the group said the President demonstrated decisive leadership in the rescue of the abducted schoolchildren and their teachers.
TMSG was reacting to comments by the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, who, during a courtesy visit by Oyo State traditional rulers to President Tinubu, commended the administration for rejecting the kidnappers’ demand for the release of detained terrorist leaders in exchange for the abducted victims.

According to the group, the monarch’s remarks underscored the growing effectiveness of security agencies under the Tinubu administration.
“We acknowledge the Olubadan’s assertion that improved inter agency coordination is becoming a turning point in Nigeria’s fight against terrorism under President Tinubu,” the statement said.

TMSG argued that the monarch’s position reflected the views of many Nigerians who believe the country’s security situation is improving and have called for similar successes to be replicated across the nation.

The group also commended what it described as the speedy prosecution of terrorism suspects, including alleged Ansaru commanders, saying several suspects had been arraigned, pleaded guilty and received judgments within a relatively short period.

According to TMSG, the development demonstrates the administration’s commitment to combating crime within the framework of the rule of law.
“It shows that the Bola Tinubu administration is confronting crime and criminality while upholding the supremacy of the rule of law,” the statement added.

The group urged the Federal Government to sustain its current counterterrorism strategy, saying recent security gains had improved Nigeria’s image both at home and abroad.

TMSG also referenced what it described as a message of commendation from former United States President Donald Trump, who it said acknowledged President Tinubu’s efforts in tackling terrorism and improving security in Nigeria.

According to the group, the recognition reflects growing international confidence in the administration’s approach to addressing insecurity since assuming office in May 2023.
