The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has restored the 330kV Kainji–Birnin Kebbi Single Circuit Transmission Line to service, nearly a month after it was taken out of operation following the collapse of Tower 367.

TCN said the line was restored at 5:24 p.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2026, after engineers installed an Emergency Restoration System (ERS) tower at the affected location in Yauri.

The transmission line was taken out of service on September 7 after Tower 367 collapsed.

According to TCN, the restoration involved dismantling and decommissioning the collapsed tower, aligning and preparing the conductors and skywire, erecting the ERS tower, and completing other associated works necessary to safely return the line to service.

The company said its engineers worked round the clock to complete the restoration and minimise the duration of the outage.

TCN appreciated electricity consumers in the affected areas for their patience and understanding during the period of the outage, adding that it remains committed to maintaining a stable and reliable transmission network.
