The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a two-hour power interruption in Gwagwalada and adjoining areas of Abuja on Monday, October 5, 2026, to enable urgent maintenance work at its Gwagwalada 132/33kV Transmission Substation.
The maintenance exercise is scheduled to take place from 10:00am to 12:00pm and will involve the connection of an earthing reactor to a 60MVA, 132/33kV power transformer.
According to TCN, the exercise will prevent the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) from taking power to customers in Watson Door, Gwagwalada, and adjoining areas during the two-hour period.
TCN apologised to electricity consumers in the affected areas for the inconvenience the maintenance exercise may cause.
