The Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) has disbursed N3,817,568,592.80 in accrued pension arrears to 30,356 Defined Benefit Scheme (DBS) pensioners.

The beneficiaries are drawn from the Parastatals Pension Department (PaPD), Defunct and Transferred Agencies Pension Department (DTAPD), and Tertiary, Education and Health Pension Department (TEHPD).

The payment follows the Back End Computation (BEC) Review Exercise conducted by PTAD to address complaints concerning pension computations and outstanding entitlements of DBS pensioners.

PTAD said the disbursement demonstrates its commitment to settling verified outstanding obligations and improving the welfare of pensioners under its mandate.

The Executive Secretary of PTAD, Tolulope Odunaiya, thanked the affected pensioners for their cooperation during the review process and reaffirmed the Directorate’s commitment to the timely, transparent and accountable payment of verified pension entitlements.

Odunaiya said the payment also reflects the commitment of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to addressing pension related issues and strengthening pension administration under the DBS.

She added that PTAD would continue to engage with DBS pensioners, resolve pension related complaints promptly and ensure efficient and accountable administration of the scheme.
