Benue 2026: Jeffrey Kurayun Submits Forms, Vows To Tackle Insecurity, End “Godfatherism”

Dr. Jeffrey Kurayun has officially entered the Benue State governorship race following the submission of his Expression of Interest and Nomination forms under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

​Speaking after the submission, Dr. Kurayun described the move as the formal commencement of a “transformative journey” aimed at repositioning the state.

He expressed confidence in his ability to lead, citing a blend of experience from both the public and private sectors.

​”I am very glad because this is the start of a process to transform our state into what it should be,” Kurayun said.

“I am fully qualified to run and to serve. I bring practical solutions that will improve the lives of our people.”

​Focus on Insecurity and Governance

​Addressing the persistent security challenges in Benue, Dr. Kurayun assured residents that his administration would prioritize decisive action.

He noted that the state has endured significant hardship and pledged to implement “practical solutions” to restore safety and stability.

​Rejecting “Godfatherism”

​Dr. Kurayun also sought to distance his candidacy from traditional political patronage, emphasizing that his campaign remains rooted in a grassroots mandate.

​”My focus is on the people,” he stated. “The mandate of the people is what truly matters.”

​The aspirant concluded by promising a “purposeful leadership” style, maintaining that his entry into the race offers a message of hope for the future of Benue State.
