The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has clarified concerns over candidates whose UTME results currently display “No Result Yet,” stating that such results belong to underage candidates and have not been released.
In a statement, Dr Fabian Benjamin,
Public Communications Adviser to the Board said only candidates who will be at least 16 years old by 30 September 2026 are eligible to register for and sit the UTME.
However, an exception exists for gifted candidates under a special category.
JAMB explained that underage candidates may be considered only if they demonstrate exceptional ability by scoring 320 and above in the UTME and achieving at least 80 percent in subsequent screening stages.
The Board added that, based on an agreement endorsed by parents, only candidates who meet the 320 score threshold will be shortlisted and invited to proceed to the next stage of screening.
Those who succeed at that level may then be considered for admission under the exceptional candidates provision.
For now, JAMB emphasized that results for all underage candidates remain unreleased.
