All seems not to be well with the ruling All Progressive Congress ahead of it’s March 26 National Convention as Governor Sani Bello on Monday arrived the party’s Wuse 2 headquarters announcing himself as the new acting chairman of the APC caretaker committee.
The development is coming amidst speculation of the sack of Gov Mai Buni of Yobe state as chairman of the caretaker extraordinary convention planning committee by President Buhari.
Bello who arrived at about 12pm,proceeded to the national working committee hall where he administer oath of office on state chairmen of the party. Speaking with newsmen after the ceremony, the Governor cleared the air that he exercised the functions of the party’s chairman in accordance with the directive of the president.
Earlier, the National secretary of the APC Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) senator James Akpanudoedehe had dismissed the claim in a press statement indicating that the report is fake and should be disregarded immediately.
There are feelings that Gov Buni was sacked following allegations by members of the committee and APC governors that he was working against the interest of the party.
