The Igbo Agenda Dialogue (IAD) has endorsed Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), for the 2027 presidential election, calling on Ndigbo to unite behind his candidacy and deliver bloc votes.
National Chairman of the organisation, Chief Chekwas Okorie, announced the endorsement at a news conference in Abuja, saying the decision followed an assessment of Obi’s leadership record, political antecedents and vision for Nigeria.
The group claimed Obi enjoys widespread support among Nigerians across ethnic and religious divides.
The organisation also urged Nigerians, irrespective of ethnicity or religion, to support Obi’s presidential ambition, describing him as a compassionate, prudent and incorruptible leader.

Okorie called on Igbo politicians backing other presidential candidates to focus their campaigns on issues and shun inflammatory rhetoric.
He also disclosed that the group would intensify its mobilisation efforts through affiliated organisations across Nigeria and in the diaspora to rally support for the Obi-Kwankwaso ticket ahead of the 2027 election.
