The Inter Party Advisory Council IPAC has called on the European Union not to relent in its support for democratic governance, peace and stability in Nigeria.
IPAC Chairman, Engr Yabagi Sani made the appeal when he played host to a delegation of the European union election follow up mission at it’s headquarters in Abuja.
He said the gesture was made in the believe that advanced democracies of the world have the wealth of experience, human and material resources from which countries of developing nations like Nigeria can benefit from.
The Council further intimated the delegation of it’s proposal for establishment of an African democratic institute and it’s likely impact on the nation’s electoral process.
The EU election follow up mission led by Maria Arena are in Nigeria for consultations with key stakeholders in the nation’s electoral system including the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC ahead of preparation for the 2023 General elections.
