AFCON: NCAC Launches 10m Online Supporters For Super Eagle
As the Super Eagles continue their soujon at the ongoing 33rd edition of the African Cup of Nation’s Tournament hosted by Cameroon, the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC) has launched a 10 million online supporters initiative for the men’s national team. The concept according to the NCAC Director General, Olusegun Runsewe is to enable Nigerians who can’t cheer up the national team due to COVID-19 travel restrictions to do so via online platforms. Runsewe who unveiled the platform at a ceremony held at the Councils headquarters in Abuja said it is expected to boost the morale of the Super Eagles as well as galvanize their efforts towards winning the tournament. Speaking through virtual links, football personalities including Segun Odegbami,Danladi Bako,Rafiu Ladipo and Gbenga Elegbeleye endorsed the platform describing it as a timely intervention to help the Super Eagles win the AFCON trophy. As the super Eagles prepare for the round of 16 segment of the tournament, it is expected that cheers and support from over 20 million members of the platform will spur the team to win the highly rated AFCON trophy.
