The Registrar of the National Examinations Council, NECO, Prof Ibrahim Wushishi has commended the councils workforce for sustaining the conduct of examinations despite security challenges, including Boko Haram insurgency, banditry, kidnapping and sit-at-home orders.
Professor Wushishi, gave the commendation in Minna, Niger State, at the Council’s 2025 Annual Staff Productivity Award Ceremony.
Wushishi described NECO workers as the “army of NECO”, praising their round the clock commitment to ensuring that examinations continued even in difficult security environments.
Wushishi added that the annual productivity awards were designed not only to recognise outstanding performance, but also to motivate staff, improve service delivery and promote continuous improvement across the Council.
On his part, the chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Aviation, Hon. Abdullahi Garba, said the ceremony went beyond the presentation of certificates and awards as it demonstrates the
recognition and commitment to encouraging excellence, hard work, discipline and continuous improvement within NECO.
