Since that famous news conference by a youth group of the ruling All Progressive Congress, the Progressive Youth Movement, sacking the Governor Buni Led Caretaker committee of the party, there have been several insinuations questioning the intentions of the group. However, the movement insists they are on a mission to rescue the party especially as it relates to generational shift in power come 2023. Analysing some of these issues in an exclusive interview with Chanel Network Afrique, Chairperson and leader of the PYM, Princess Zarah Mona Audu cited what she described as foundamental and legal issues surrounding the existence of the Buni led Caretaker committee that are alien to the APC constitution that the movement is bent on addressing. The group further raised several concerns indicating that the caretaker committee is not serious about the February National convention of the APC. Princess Audu also explained reasons why they are yet to take their case to President Buhari who is the leader of the party, adding that their demands are geared towards further strengthening of the party ahead future elections. On the way forward, the group indicated it’s nod for the February National convention to go on as scheduled in a free, fair and transparent manner inline with the nation’s electoral law.
