Troops Neutralize ISWAP New Leader Bako As 1,199 Terrorists Surrender- DHQ
As the federal government continue to initiate strategies to deal with the nation’s insecurity challenges, the Defence headquarters has assured of efforts to sustain ongoing onslaughts by the armed forces and other security agencies across various theatres of operations. Acting Director, Defence Media Operations, Brigadier General Bernard Onyeuko gave the indication at a press briefing to update Nigerians on the activities of troops within the 14th to 28th of october 2021 across Nigeria. Highlights of such activities in the period under review according to General Onyeuko includes neutralisation of the new ISWAP leader Bako alongside other 37 terrorists. He further highlighted other interventions by troops of operation Hadinka in the northeast. The briefing further evaluated the activities of troops of operation Hadarin Daji, Safe heaven and whirlstroke in the northwest and north central which according to General Onyeuko resulted in neutralisation of several armed bandits with scores arrested and various arms and ammunition recovered. For Troops of Operation DELTA SAFE, the Defence information chief says their resilience in executing land, maritime and air operations to forestall activities of economic saboteurs and other criminal elements in the South-South Zone is commendable. Having taken stock of the gains recorded in the period under review ,the Military High Command insists that the armed forces and other security agencies will not relent on their oars in the fight against criminalities in all parts of the Country.
