A Civil Society organisation under the aegis of Citizens Awareness Against Corruption and Social Vices Initiative wants the Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS), Mohammed Nami removed from office. According to the rights group, the call became necessary inview of several information at their disposal indicating that Mohammed Nami lacks integrity and competence to head the FIRS. Addressing a press conference in Abuja, Executive Director of the Organization, Comrade Olumuyiwa Onlede also took the FIRS under Nami’s leadership to the cleaners for what it referred to as low level of tax collection, thereby putting the nation’s economic development at risk. The Group further hinted about it’s petition against the FIRS boss on allegations bordering on Gross misconduct and other related offences before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. They vowed to occupy the Wuse Zone 5 headquarters of the service or commence legal proceedings against it’s Chairman if nothing is done about issues raised in their petition. End.
