Ahead of the 2023 general elections, Nigerian youths have been advised to take advantage of the Not Too Young to Run Bill and be actively involved in politics. Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello made the statement at the 2nd annual symposium organized by the Pan African Youth Union (PYU), in Abuja. He said days of back benching in politics is over as the youths must rise up to their political responsibilities and secure the future of the country through their votes. Represented by his Chief of Staff, Abdulkareem Asuku, Gov Bello further urged the youths to take advantage of the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) exercise and do the needful. On his part the Commissioner for Youth Political Participation, Pan African Youth Union, Amb Oladele Nihi urged the youth population to stop the lament and engage more deeply on the electoral process. He Further applauded the efforts of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in ensuring a stress-free and seamless CVR exercise. The Theme of the 2nd OJN Annual Symposium is “Towards Youthful Governance In Nigeria: Time To Work The Talk” is aimed at encouraging the Youths to actively swift into action instead of just complaining and doing nothing to take over relevant political positions in the country.
