Statistics revealed that over fifty percent of Nigerian children die as a result of malnutrition. This revelation re-enforces the claim that about two point five million children are severely wasted in the country with the attendance risk of dying nine times faster than children from other climes. Speaking at the flag off and ministerial joint news conference to commemorate the 2020 Nutrition Week, Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Clem Agba said Nigeria has shown more commitment in addressing issues of malnutrition by domesticating and implementing quality policies. He said nutrition is not just a health issue it is about the potential of the next generation as such investments will help in preventing undernutrition, build human capital, boost shared prosperity and improve health outcomes.
