September 25th, 2019 deadline has been issued by the federal government as deadline for regularisation of all SIM cards in the country. Minister of Communications ,Dr ISA Pantami gave the directive at the inauguration ceremony of new members of the Nigerian Communication Commission board in Abuja. The minister had on Thursday 5th September instructed the NCC to compel Telecom providers to block all unregistered SIM cards, a development that resulted in reduction of defaulting mobile telephone lines from an initial 9.2 million to 2.4 million. Commending the achievement, the minister said the remaining 2.4 million unregistered SIM cards must be regularised before the September 25th deadline.
