The Embassy of Nigeria in Hungary has continued its school visitation and Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship drive with a visit to the University of Dunaújváros (DUE), aimed at expanding educational and training opportunities for Nigerian students.

The Nigerian delegation was led by Ambassador Abasi Braimah Ogwime and included Social Secretary Dr Erika Madarász and Daniel Etawo. They were received by the university’s management team led by Vice-Rector for Institutional Development and General Affairs, Dr Mónika Rajcsányi-Molnár.

Other university officials present were Vice-Rector for Education Dr László Balázs, Director of International Relations Kitti Szabó, Director of Strategic Relations József Fritz, and Social Relations Officer Csaba Papp.

During the meeting, university officials briefed the Nigerian delegation on DUE’s international degree programmes, Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship opportunities, and support services available to foreign students.

The visit also featured a tour of the university’s facilities, including its laboratories, where the delegation interacted with lecturers and Nigerian students to gain first-hand knowledge of academic life and student experiences at the institution.

According to the university, 11 Nigerian students are currently enrolled at DUE, including six beneficiaries of the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship programme.

Most of the students are studying Computer Engineering, while others are pursuing degrees in Business Administration and Management, as well as Communication and Media Science.

The embassy said the visit forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen academic cooperation and secure more educational opportunities for Nigerian youths through Hungary’s scholarship programmes.
