Over 250,000 teachers annually is required to address the teacher deficiency in both primary and post primary schools in the country. This challenge, according to the Registrar,Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria,Prof Josiah Ajiboye is not peculiar to Nigeria alone as there is presently a 7 million shortfall of teachers globally. He however said the Council is taking step to address the gap as well as set standards that will help produce quality teachers in the system.
