As part of measures to check misleading faith based ideologies deployed by Insurgent groups to recruit new convers, the Nigerian Armed forces is working with faith based organisations and members of the different religious Faith’s within its fold to evolve counter narratives aimed at educating the public to resist messages that may lure them into Insurgency. This is the rationale for this meeting held at the Nigerian Army Resource centre, with the theme countering Insurgency and Violent Extremism in Nigeria Through Spiritual Warfare. Declaring the seminar Open, the Chief of Army Staff, Liuetenant General Tukur Buratai represented by the Chief of Admin. Maj Gen Muhammad Yusuf stressed the need to initiate strategies that are faith based and can be easily identified with by the generality of Nigerians in the fight against terrorism.
