Abuja Widow Seeks Help After Sudden Leg Fracture.

26

A widow based in Abuja, Mrs. Mercy Agbo, has recounted how her right leg allegedly broke suddenly without any apparent cause, leaving her incapacitated and appealing for assistance.

Mrs. Agbo, a native of Neke Community in Isiuzo Local Government Area of Enugu State, resides in Pigba Sama Community near the Apo Mechanic Village in the Federal Capital Territory.

She said the incident occurred on March 29, 2026, at about 10 p.m.
According to her, the injury happened unexpectedly as she prepared to retire for the night.

“It happened on March 29, around 10 p.m. when I wanted to go into my room and sleep. As I stood up and attempted to stretch my body, before I knew it, my leg was broken.

Neighbours came out and helped me,” she said.
She explained that she had not experienced any prior pain or discomfort before the incident, noting that she had carried out her normal daily activities, including attending church earlier that day.

On possible causes of the injury, Mrs. Agbo said opinions have varied. While some attributed it to spiritual or external factors, she noted that a medical practitioner informally suggested it might be linked to calcium deficiency, although no clinical tests were conducted to confirm this.

The widow, who has two children, said her condition has left her unable to continue her small scale akara (bean cake) business, which had been her primary source of income since the death of her husband.

She expressed concern over her children’s education, stating that she currently lacks the means to provide for their basic needs, including school fees.

Mrs. Agbo is currently receiving care at home from a traditional bone setter engaged by neighbours. She said she relies on support from well meaning individuals for food and other necessities.

“Some neighbours have been assisting me with food and money. I don’t know how my children will continue their education,” she said.

She appealed to members of the public for assistance to support her treatment and sustain her family. Interested individuals can locate her residence near ECWA Pigba Sama, close to Apo Primary School bus stop, after Honda Line of Apo Mechanic Village, Abuja, or contact her via phone.
