Troops Rescue 11 Near Kaduna After 92 Days In Captive
The Nigerian Army successfully rescued 11 kidnap victims during a late-night operation on Monday, January 26, 2026, ending their 92-day ordeal in captivity.
The rescue took place along the Kaduna–Abuja Expressway corridor following a tactical interception by troops from the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Doka.
According to operational reports, the rescue was initiated after troops utilized long-range, high-definition CCTV surveillance to spot armed terrorists. The criminals were attempting to move their captives through the Gidan Duna–Amale bush track under the cover of darkness.
Upon detection, troops launched a high-speed pursuit using tactical vehicles and motorcycles. The intensity of the interception forced the terrorists to abandon the victims and flee into the nearby scrubland, preventing their retreat further into the hinterland.
The rescued individuals include:
- Five adult males
- Three adult females
- Three children
The victims had been missing since October 26, 2025, when they were abducted from the Gada Mallam Maman community.
Military officials stated that the success of the mission underscores the effective integration of modern surveillance technology with agile ground maneuvers. The Nigerian Army reiterated its commitment to securing key transit routes and denying criminal elements freedom of movement in the region.
