Okowa, Morka Lead APC Stakeholders Meeting In Delta, Set January Deadline For E-registration
Former Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, and the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Felix Morka, have called for total party unity and mass participation in the ongoing APC e-registration exercise ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The leaders made the call on Monday during the Ika Federal Constituency Leaders and Stakeholders Meeting held in Agbor. The session marked the first major collective assembly of the constituency’s political leadership since April 2025, following the defection of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the state’s former ruling structure to the APC.
The Registration Deadline
Addressing the gathering, Felix Morka announced that January 31, 2026, serves as the final deadline for the e-registration process. He warned that the digital exercise is a mandatory prerequisite for party recognition.
”You cannot vote. You cannot be voted for,” Morka stated, adding that unregistered individuals would be excluded from forthcoming ward, local government, state, and national congresses. He urged leaders to return to their respective villages to strengthen the party from the grassroots.
Support for Tinubu and Oborevwori
Morka further emphasized the need for “shoulder-to-shoulder” solidarity with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, citing the President’s “bold, historic steps” in addressing long-standing economic challenges. He noted that the APC is determined to deliver the “Renewed Hope” agenda across all regions of Nigeria.
Supporting this stance, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa asserted that the collective resolve of the leaders present should eliminate any political anxiety. He noted that because Governor Oborevwori was the first to “align openly and decisively” with the President, Delta State has become a national model for political alignment.
Call for Unity
The meeting focused heavily on overcoming internal friction. Okowa cautioned members against “petty divisions” and “internal conflicts,” stating that strategic discipline is required to maintain dominance across the 26 wards of the Ika Federal Constituency.
”If we resolve, collectively and immediately, to work together, we can command political dominance,” Okowa told the stakeholders.
Prominent Attendees
The meeting was attended by high-ranking officials and party stalwarts, including:
Barrister Chiedu Ebie, Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC)
Dr. Kingsley Emu, Secretary to the Delta State Government
Hon. Doris Uboh
Hon. Marilyn Okowa-Daramola
Local Government Chairmen Samuel Ekene Kerry (Ika North East) and Hilary Fada Ibude (Ika South).
The assembly concluded with a mandate for leaders to begin immediate mobilization within their wards to meet the January 2026 registration cut-off.
