The Accord Party has expelled its Presidential Candidate in the 2023 General Election, Prof Christopher Imumolen and Seven others for gross misconduct and anti-party activities.
The party further suspended its state chairmen in Bauchi, Yobe and Katsina for similar offences. Addressing newsmen after the National Executive Council Meeting of the party in Abuja, the Chairman of Accord Party, Bar. Maxwell Mgbudem said the decisions were informed by the outcome of the report of a 7-man Disciplinary Committee set up to investigate the alleged offences against the party members.
He emphasized the importance to preserve the party’s constitution and adherence to its laws as supreme above other interests.
Other highlights of the meeting include the vote of confidence passed on the leadership of Bar Mgbudem as the authentic National Chairman of Accord.
The Party also debunked claims of factions among its ranks, insisting it has commenced massive membership drive aimed at repositioning its structures and operations ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
