Ondo Guber: 55,859 PVC’s Collected By New Registrants- INEC

Ahead of the Ondo State Governorship Election, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, says it has distributed 55,859 Permanent Voters Cards, PVCs within a period of o five days.

In a statement by Sam Olumekun, National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education, the commission the PVCs were personally collected by voters who newly registered and those who applied for transfer and replacement of lost or damaged cards as provided by law.

According to Olumekun, the 55,859 collected PVCs represent 62.2 per cent of the 89,777 cards available for collection.

“This is the highest percentage of PVCs collected in five days in Ondo State since the Commission introduced the CVR in 2015, he said.

Olumekun also said a detailed breakdown of the collection by Local Government Areas, LGAs, has been uploaded in the commission’s website and social media platforms for public information.

He added that collection of the cards will resume at the 18 LGA offices in Ondo State from Wednesday 23rd to Tuesday 29th October 2024 from 9.00am to 5.00pm daily, including the weekend.

The commission appealed to the remaining voters to pick up their PVCs in person from its LGA offices, while reiterating its policy that no cards will be collected by proxy.
