Military Stops N943bn Oil Theft In Niger Delta, Arrest 23 Suspects.

The Defence headquarters says the rejigged war against crude oil theft in the Niger Delta Region has started yielding the desired results with the arrest of 23 perpetrators in an operation that saved the government 943 Billion Naira.

Recall, President Tinubu only last month directed the Chief of Defense Staff, General Christopher Musa to end the worrying trend of crude oil theft in the region.

Addressing a news conference on Military Operations across the six geopolitical zones at the Defence Headquarters on Abuja, the Director, Defence Media Operations, Maj. Gen. Edward Buba said troops neutralised 147 suspects, with 381 others arrested and 113 kidnapped hostages rescued.

The DDMO also indicated how 81 terrorists were killed by troops of operation HADIN KAI in the North East.

General Buba further gave an update on other geopolitical zones of the Country, within the period under review.

The Defence spokesman solicited the support of citizens in the fight against insecurity, affirming the resolve of the military high command to continuous onslaught against terrorists, bandits and other criminal elements in the country.
