The Executive Secretary, Universal Basic Education Commission, UBEC,Dr Hamid Bobboyi has insisted on high quality delivery of infrastructure projects at the basic level of education across the country.
Bobboyi gave the indication while declaring open a 2 day Training in Abuja for UBEC staff of physical planning on enhancing quality delivery of projects using simple tools for on the spot accessment at project sites.
Bobboyi who vowed to strengthen the commissions monitoring mechanism to curb the menace of poorly executed projects in schools,said the training will help the participants adhere strictly to the acceptable standards and high quality delivery of infrastructure projects at the basic level of education.
The UBEC boss further indicated plans to work with the State Universal Basic Education Boards in ensuring standards in infrastructures at basic schools across the country.
The training to be undertaken by the National Building and Road Research Institute NBRRI according to its Director General, Samson Duna will ensure safety of school infrastructure.
NBRRI further linked the menace of building collapse in the country to the use of low quality materials, a development UBEC says is unacceptable in the school system.
