The Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru has assure officers and men of the Armed Forces of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration’s commitment to equipping and training them to enhance combat readiness against insurgency and terrorism.
The Minister, gave the assurance, when he visited military operations theatre in Katsina.
According to a press statement by the Director of press in the ministry, Henshaw Ogubike, the minister while addressing the troops of Operation Hadarin Daji at the 213 Forward Operating Base, acknowledged the significant successes recorded in the fight against insurgency and related crimes by the present administration.
He urged the troops to continue the fight against insurgency and banditry, commending their sacrifices and commitment.
Regarding the recent incident involving the killing of soldiers in Abia State, the Minister indicated government’s determination to bring the perpetrators to justice and prevent such incidents from happening again.
Air Commodore Garba Jibia, Commanding Air Component, 213 Forward Operation Hadarin Daji, appreciated the Minister’s visit, stating that it would boost troops morale.
Earlier, the Minister held an interactive discussion with officers and men of the Headquarters of the 17 Brigade of the Nigerian Army and Sector 2 Joint Task Force Operation Hadarin Daji, Katsina, to assess their preparedness in responding to insecurity threats in the region.
The Minister also visited the Nigerian Army Medical Center, Katsina, where he sympathized with military personnel injured during combat operations.
