AFRIDU, FG Partner On Diaspora Matters, Economic Growth
Statistics indicates that about sixty-five percent of African descents in the diaspora have their roots in Nigeria.
To this end, the African Diaspora Union, FRIDU is partnering with the Federal Government in the area of granting Nigerian Passport to Africans in overseas.
Speaking at the International Conference of African Descents In Diaspora, AFRIDU President, Archbishop Chidiebere said the move will complement the efforts of government to enhance the nations economic profile and potentials.
He said the organisation was established to bring together African descents in diaspora with the overall goal focus on economic development and justice.
On his part, Chairman Board of Trustees AFRIDU, King Alfred Spiff, stressed that the conference will bring knowledge and renewed determination to work towards a better future for Africans in diaspora.
Other stakeholders spoke on the significance of integration of Africans in diaspora in the scheme of affairs.
Plans to hold a 5 day International gathering in honour of Africans in diaspora in Nigeria’s Capital Abuja, September 2024 was also disclosed at the meeting.
