The Defence headquarters says in it’s drive to rid the country of all forms of criminal element, troops in diverse operations neutralized 50 terrorists, arrested 114 others while 49 kidnaped hostages where rescued within one week.
Addressing a press conference in Abuja on the strides recorded by the troops in the period under review, the Coordinator Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba stated that the feat was achieved in raids, fighting patrols and ambush carried out by troops in diverse theatre of operations.
Gen Buba noted that the continuous Onslaught by troops also led to the surrender of terrorist as well as the arrest of suspected kidnappers in the Northern part of the country.
The briefing also captured the activities of troops in the South South region. The DMO Coordinator further indicated how troops raided one of the safe havens of IPOB in Aku Forest in Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo State.
The Military High Command further assured of committed efforts to ensure maximum protection of citizens and restore security across the country.
