Security: Gaidam Seeks Cooperation With Turkey On Intelligent Gathering, Others.

The Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam has indicated plans by Nigeria to explore collaboration with Turkey in intelligence sharing and capacity building to combat transnational crimes.

  Sen. Gaidam who stated this during the visit of the Turkish Ambassador to Nigeria Hidayet Bayraktar to the Ministry in Abuja, said Turkey has consistently demonstrated its commitment to international diplomacy and fostering strong bilateral relationships.  

He pointed out that the Nigeria Police Force will also seek assistance of the European nation in the area of procurement and use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) for precise mapping surveillance and intelligence-lead policing. 

Earlier, Turkey’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Amb. Hidayet Bayraktar thanked Nigeria for the support and donation during the earthquake crisis in Turkey noting that both countries have a vibrant and important relationship.

He said the level of relationship in the economic, political, and military have been overwhelming and growing at a rapid pace stressing that Nigeria plays a major role in the region and Africa.

Plan to sign two agreements on security cooperation and Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation and law enforcement training on a later date, was also part of the discuss.
