Military Will Defend Nigeria’s Democracy – CDS
The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa has assured of the Armed Forces Commitment to protect the democracy of Nigeria noting that the AFN is highly United and committed to civil authority.
The Defence Chiefs gave the assurance when he paid a courtesy visit to the leaders of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs ( NSCIA) at the Central Mosque, Abuja.
In a signed statement by the Director Defence Information, Brigadier General, Tukur Gusau made available to newsmen in Abuja, Gen. Musa thanked the islamic leaders for their relentless prayers towards the AFN and the nation in general.
The CDS who noted that, though the country is passing through some challenges, assured that Nigeria will continue to grow and remain better. According to him, “Nigeria will surely be safe”.
The National President of the NSCIA, His Eminence, Sultan Abubakar Saad consoled the CDS on the recent loss of Military personnel in a plane crash at Niger State.
Represented by Barrister Haroun Eze, the Sultan who added that the NSCIA has always prayed for the military in it’s fight against insurgency and terrorism, called for a peaceful resolution to the political situation in Niger Republic.
