As part of activities to mark the 2023 world Humanitarian day, stakeholders embarked on a solidarity walk to raise concerns on the plight of aid workers and survival of crisis affected person’s The permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Dr Nasir Sani Gwarzo, who led the walk in Abuja, cited various humanitarian challenges across Nigeria raging from insurgency banditry, clashes between farmers/ herders just to mention a few that must be addressed.
He further commended the Tinubu administration for doing the needful especially as it relates to the survival of those in humanitarian crisis.
The United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator for Nigeria, Matthias Schmale, who was part of the solidarity walk said the 2023 edition mark the twentieth anniversary of the attack on the UN headquarters in Baghdad, Iraq, thereby restating the world unwavering commitment to humanitarian services.
