That was the inauguration of the Abuja Chapter of the Chartered Institute of Professional Printers of Nigeria, CIPPON.
The exercise was in line with the provision of its act to establishment state chapters in order to strengthen its operations nationwide through monitoring and evaluation.
Speaking, the National President, CIPPON, Niyi Adesoye said the idea behind setting up state chapters is to ensure that anyone establishing a printing press must be licensed in order to check infiltration by quacks.
The Chairperson, FCT Chapter of CIPPON, Olajumoke Owoeye and other stakeholders spoke on the significance of the event to the nation’s economy.
On the membership of CIPPON, the body warned printers that those that have not regularised their membership would be made to write an entrance examination before being admitted as a member.
