President Mohammadu Buhari on January 23rd 2019 signed the discrimination against persons with disability act into law. Major highpoint of the law is criminalizing all forms of discrimination against people living with disabilities and enforcing their rights and privileges to education,healthcare,with priority to accommodation and emergencies. One hundred days after the presidential assent, PWD’s under the auspices of Centre for Citizens with Disability organised a Thanksgiving service at the Seventh day Adventist church Abuja,to commemorate the gesture which took over 18 years to actualize.
