2023: CISLAC Tasks Security Agencies On Neutrality

Ahead of Saturdays election, Security agencies have been urged to be apolitical and define their roles aimed at ensuring a hitch free polls.

Executive Secretary, Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC) Auwal Musa Rafsanjani, stated this at a one day CSOs and Media Dialogue in Abuja.

Rafsanjani who said the dialogue was put together to expand the understanding of participants on past and ongoing systematic corrupt practices in the defence and security sector especially as it relates to politics and how it affects democracy in Nigeria said it will no longer be business as usual as Nigerians go to the polls on Saturday 25th February 2023.

He emphasized reasons why the security agencies must work for the larger interest of Nigerians who over the years have yearned for a credible electoral process.

The CISLAC Executive Director didn’t stop there as he further demanded more commitment from the security agencies.

The one day CSOs and Media Dialogue, of CISLAC, was organized in collaboration with Transparency International, to reposition the Defence and security sector to be more Responsible and Accountable in Nigeria’s Democracy.
