A coalition of civil society Organizations have thrown their weight behind the decision by the Central Bank not to extend the 31st January deadline for collection of old 200,500, and 1000 naira notes.
The spokesperson of the Coalition, Bassey Etuk at a sensitization campaign at Garki Modern Market in Abuja, advised Nigerians to take advantage of the remaining days to comply with the deadline.
He said the essence of the campaign is to enlighten Nigerians on the merit of the Policy and it’s implication for national development
He also assured on the availability of the new naira notes saying banks have been directed to open their doors to customers even at weekends for deposit of old naira notes.
A businesswoman, Ngozi Ekweke while commending the apex bank for the new naira notes and the cashless monetary policies, lamented the unavailability of the new notes in commercial banks and ATM outlets.
The campaign train later transited to utako Market and the College of education zuba.
