Just In: Dearth Of Research Responsible For Low Ranking Of Nigeria’s Universities.
The dearth of commercialized research has been attributed to reasons why the nation’s Universities are not competing favorably with their counterparts across the globe.
This was the fulcrum of a one day interactive session for directors of research of Nigerian universities organised by the national universities Commission in Abuja.
Highlighting the relevance of research to the economic development of any nation,the NUC executive Secretary,Prof Abubakar Rasheed said the nation’s ivory towers over the years have concentrated more on teaching, a situation that is responsible for the present gap between them and the industries.
