2023 Polls: APC Ends Collection Of Forms, Kick-starts Process For Primaries

There was beehive of activities at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja as aspirants tried to beat the deadline for the submission of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms. One of the aspirants that tried not miss the deadline as specified by the party’s timetable is the President of the Nigerian Senate, Ahmed Lawan.

Represented by the former APC, National Chairman, Caretaker Extraordinary Planning Committee and Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni and his Imo state counterpart, Hope Uzodinma, the President of the Nigerian Senate said he is the best aspirant to consolidate on the gains of the present administration.

Also, the Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle who led stakeholders from the state to collectively submit the nomination forms of all aspirants said they are working as a team to prevent a repeat of the 2019 scenerio in where the party lost all elective offices from gubernatorial to the state houses of assembly due to invalidly conducted primaries.

With the official closing of the submission of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms by the ruling party, it is expected that political gladiators will soon swing into full campaign and lobbying to win the confidence of delegates ahead of the party’s primaries.
