The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a six hour disruption in electricity supply to parts of Abuja on Saturday, October 17, due to scheduled maintenance at the Katampe Transmission Substation.
In a notice issued on Saturday, TCN said its maintenance crew would work on one of the substation’s 60MVA power transformers and its associated switchgear between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
The maintenance is expected to affect electricity supply to Katampe Main, Katampe Extension, Jahi and neighbouring areas, as the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) will be unable to receive power for onward distribution to customers in the affected locations during the exercise.
TCN apologised to electricity consumers in the affected areas for the inconvenience the maintenance work may cause.
The company said the exercise was part of its scheduled maintenance activities at the 132/33kV Katampe Transmission Substation.
