UBEC Flags Off Distribution of Instructional Materials To FCT Schools.
The Universal Basic Education Commission, UBEC, has flagged off the distribution of about 140,000 instructional materials to public basic schools in the Federal Capital Territory, targeting no fewer than 10,000 pupils.
The UBEC Executive Secretary, Dr. Aisha Garba,who made this known at the flag-off ceremony held at Model Junior Secondary School, Maitama, Abuja, reiterated the Commission’s commitment to ensuring access to quality education for every Nigerian child, regardless of background.
Garba commended the leadership of the FCT Universal Basic Education Board for initiating the exercise, noting that the materials will significantly improve teaching and learning outcomes across the territory.
Earlier, the representative of the FCT Minister and Mandate Secretary, Education, Danlami Hayo said the initiative aligns with the efforts of the FCT Administration to expand access to instructional materials, improve infrastructure, and strengthen teacher development programmes across schools in the capital territory.
Meanwhile, some of the pupils lauded the initiative, saying it will help boost their learning and academic performance.
The instructional materials are expected to be distributed across all six area councils of the FCT, benefiting both pupils and teachers.
