The Nigerian Army School of Public Relations and Information (NASPRI) has officially inaugurated its First Quarter 2026 courses, with a call for participants to prepare for the evolving demands of modern military operations.

The Acting Director of Army Public Relations (DAPR), Colonel Appolonia Anele, delivered the charge during an inauguration ceremony held at the Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja Auditorium, Muhammadu Buhari Cantonment, Giri.

Represented by the Acting Commandant of NASPRI, Lieutenant Colonel Shuaib Umar, the DAPR noted that contemporary counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency efforts in Nigeria are increasingly “information-driven.” He stated that the curriculum—comprising Strategic Communication Course 3, A1 Photography Course 10, and A3 Video Operations Course 17 was specifically designed to equip personnel with the technical skills and professional mindset required to manage information within a complex security landscape.

Colonel Anele urged the students to leverage the expertise of their instructors, noting that active participation and focus are essential to achieving the training objectives. He further warned that the institution maintains a “zero-tolerance policy” for indiscipline, mandating strict adherence to the school’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and the core values of the Nigerian Army.

Earlier, the Chief Instructor of NASPRI, Major Nureni Alimi, briefed the students on the academic and field expectations. He emphasized that these courses are critical prerequisites for career progression within the Nigerian Army, urging the participants to meet all requirements diligently.

The Acting Commandant concluded by expressing appreciation to the Chief of Army Staff and the DAPR for their continued support, which he credited with enhancing the school’s capacity to fulfill its mandate.

The event concluded with the formal inauguration of the students and a commemorative group photograph at the NASPRI office complex.
